Period 1--History 10
We finished discussing our notes from Edward VI, Mary I, and Elizabeth I.  We had some interesting ideas about "What if..."  One of the ideas the kids came up with was:  What if Elizabeth would have married the czar of Russia who was seeking her hand in marriage during her reign.  This would have had huge implications if they would have had a child in regards to religion, the eventual Industrial Revolution, the economy of England, the autonomy of England, the power of Russia, etc.  It was fun to play the "what if" game!

Period 2--ELA A 30
We had a few more speeches with just a few left to go.  We will finish the rest up on Tuesday, hopefully.  As well, we started reading "The Lamp at Noon" by Sinclair Ross.  We didn't get as far as we would like because we started debating who had the better argument:  Paul or Ellen.  We will finish reading this on Tuesday.

Period 3--AP 30
Hamlet was our focus for the day.  We started out the class by reviewing the first soliloquy of the play from yesterday.  We carried on, but didn't quite finish up Act I.

Period 4 & 5--AP 10
The students had this double period to work on their first formal essay.  We were able to focus on getting the thesis statement finished for most of the students and set off in the right direction to get to work on their essay.

Period 6--AP 20
We are taking a short break from Othello as the students use this class to finish up some of their outstanding assignments.  Half the class was missing for various reasons, so it was a good time to play "catch up."
