Period 1—AP 30
These kids
have lots of work they can be doing but I did forget to tell them to bring
it. They all have annotations they can
be working on, Chaucer assignments that may not be done, essays that need
finishing up, or a book they can be reading (either Night for the non-AP students or The Awakening for the AP students.
Period 2 & 3—ELA A 30
They can
begin watching the documentary Over
Canada. Before the video,
the students should do the pre-viewing questions on the handout and discuss. This video is about 72 minutes long. As they watch,
they need to jot down five places they see on the video and explain why, as
well they should pay attention to the soundtrack. Once the documentary finishes, there are a
few questions after it that they should do. If they finish early, they should be reading The Secret Lives of Sgt. John
Wilson!
Period 4—AP 10
They were given their essay
topics yesterday, so they should get started today with their topics. If they have questions, they should write
them down to remember to ask me tomorrow, but they can ask some of their peers
too. They should use their “AP
Resource Booklet” which should help.
Period 5—History 10
We don’t
have access to the computer lab this class.
I’ve warned the kids to bring their cells to use as hot spots since we
don’t need the network. They can finish
their Bit Strip but they shouldn’t spend too much time on it (really, not more
than half the class). They should be
started onto Disclosure #3 which will take the rest of this class and next
class to research. Handout the Disclosure
#3 sheet for them to get started on.
