Period 1--ELA B 30
The student were introduced to the assignment that goes with the poem "Identity" on Friday where they had to determine if they were a weed or a flower.  It's pretty corny, but it does help them work on figurative writing by estabilishing and maintaining an extended metaphor.  They had time to really look at the poem with me and they spent the period working on this assignment.  They also have to create a visual representation of their choice of plant with which they identify.

Period 2--ELA B 30
ELA B 30--same as above
AP 30--we continued to go through a refresher course of how to write a full formal essay.  They will have most of the rest of the week to work on this essay.

Period 3--Pre-AP 10
We deconstructed the essay prompts that they have for Macbeth and put them in language that makes more sense to them.  We then went on to go through how to write a formal essay.  They will get most of the rest of this week to write this essay.

Period 4--History 10
Miss Campbell introduced the American Revolution.  They started out with a clip from teh Disney movie Pocahantos ("More, more, more" on You Tube) and the students had to think about what are the connections between this movie clip and the American Revolutions.  The students determined that empirialism was at the root and they worked at defining that term.  Then there were some cloze notes on the Thirteen Colonies. Switching it up, Miss Campbell had the kids work together in a jigsaw activity (New England, Middle, and Southern Colonies).  To finish off the class, they looked at another You Tube clip called the "Jamestown video."

Period 5--History 30
We had this last class to finish up the Fur Trade webquest that they started a number of days ago.
