Period 1--ELA B 30
The students were given an opportunity to finish their assignment on "The Story of an Hour." For those that were finished, I introduced the next assignment that focusses on the concept of identity--the students have to determine whether they are a weed or flower. This is a bit of a corny assignment, but it does help the kids grasp the concept of comparison through metaphors and similies. They have to choose what plant they think they are and write a descriptive paragraph and provide a representation of their choice.
Period 2--ELA B 30/AP 30 split
NOTE: I really appreciate these kids' ability to be able to work independently while I deal with the other half of the class.
ELA B 30--as above from period 1.
AP 30--We looked at all the essay prompts and broke them down and discussed various ways the kids could tackle these questions.
Period 3--Pre-AP 10
We finished the power point on Macbeth and disussed some of the finer points of the play. They were given their essay prompts and we are starting to go through "The Dreaded Essay Handbook." They will be working on this essay next week.
Period 4--History 10
Miss Campbell administed the exam for the Industrial Revolution. They will start in on the American Revolution next week.
Period 5--History 30
We finished discussing important points from their last handout. We had a new handout discussing French colonization of North America, Acadia, and British Colonization.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
