Period 1--ELA 20
We continued with and finished our look at reading graphs today by having a look at some charts about the Saskatchewan graduation rates. Once we finished with this, there were only a few minutes left in the class but we were able to read a newspaper article about Saskatchewan high school rankings. We will have to finish up with this tomorrow.
Period 2--ELA A 30/AP 30
We spent more time than we should have getting the AP students logged onto the apscore.org website to get them set up to pick up their exam scores this summer. After this, they continued creating questions from their novel to guide us in a discussion. We started with Alias Grace today and will need to finish that up tomorrow. The other novel will get some time, and then we'll discuss the group that was reading short stories.
Period 3--ELA B 30
The students are finished with the tales from Chaucer and now have to write a persuasive essay that outlines who the winner of the free dinner should be. This can be done either in first person point of view or third. It is up to the writer. We reviewed persuasive essays and then the students were given some time to work on them.
Period 4 & 5--AP 10
They had this class to work on their reading of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Most of them were nearing the finish with reading this.
Period 6--AP 20
We continued with The Crucible. To start, we had a quick review of Act II by reviewing some of the quotations, and then we continued by reading Act III.
