My apologies...I fell off the blogging wagon! Suffice it to say, things are getting busy!
This is what the day looked like last Friday:
Period 1--ELA 20
We started reading a story called the "Children's Story" which examines childhood memories and really shows how easy it is to influence young children. The story is extensive and we stopped often to discuss as we read, so we didn't finish it up but will do so on Monday.
Period 2--AP 30
We continued to work through multiple choice questions in an effort to ready ourselves for the big exam on the 8th.
Period 3--ELA B 30
The students were put into groups to "translate" the character to which they were assigned. They are working through this using cues and clues given on the side of the reading, so hopefully it helps as they work through this example of Middle English.
Period 4--AP 10
The students were taught by Mr. Harrison who took them through the theme of censorship as it applies to Fahrenheit 451. They had time in the computer lab to research banned books and then worked on an assignment with the novel.
Period 5 & 6--AP 20
We did sneak to the Seniors' Tea for a few minutes to watch some of the presenters but then we were down to business. Each group presented their information that they had to research. This provided an excellent framework to put the students in the right mind as they start reading the play. We did get a start in our reading and are just coming to some of the interesting things! We will carry on next week.
