Period 1--ELA 20
We had a lot of fun with creative writing today.  The students were given 10 words from the dictionary and had to create a story using at least six of them.  Once they were finished this, we chose 10 more words from the dictionary, switched books randomly with a classmate, and the students had to finish the original story with at least six of the next words.  At the end of the class, they were given their own books back to look at and had fun reading the completed story.

Period 2--AP 30
We did pre-registration to get ready for the AP exams that start next week.

Period 3--ELA B 30
We continued with the background information to get ready for our reading of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.

Period 4--AP 10
Mr. Harrison, a student teacher from the U of S, taught the students the introductory information about Fahrenheit 451.  They went through the concept of fascism, anarchy, dissidents, and dictatorships and applied them to the novel.  We also read through Dr. Seuss's Yertle the Turtle to examine how it is an allegory of WWII and Hitler.  This connects with the novel through the concept of dictatorship.

Period 5--Mentor
This was a work period for our students.
