And we're back after the long weekend! I hope everyone is rested up after four days of no school! This is what our day looked like. I also won't be here for the next day or two due to a family commitment, but I will update the blog when I am back on Friday.
Period 1--ELA 20
We finished reading "Dr. Heideggar's Experiment" and the students had some time to work on some comprehension questions to accompany them. We will take up the answers tomorrow.
Period 2--AP 30/ELA A 30
They are working on their Over Canada assignment and will do so tomorrow as well.
Period 3--ELA B 30
We reviewed the "Knight's Tale" as well as the "Pardoner's Tale." With the "Knight's Tale" we took up the questions and discussed the various themes as a part of the tale.
Period 4 & 5--AP 10
We had lots of time to work on our Fahrenheit 451 essays. Since I'm not here tomorrow, I did introduce the novella of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for the students so they have some idea of what they will be hearing with the guest teacher.
Period 6--AP 20
We accomplished quite a bit today. We reviewed the information on the narrative passages in the play as well as character motivation. To bridge between Act I and II, we came up with 15+ questions that arise as a result of the action in Act I. We will see how many of these questions we can answer by the end of the play. To finish it, we did a bit of a review of Act I through a quick quiz and then went over the answers together.
