Period 1--ELA 20
The students were able to finish reading "Switching Places" and then we discussed the various themes of the play as well as the use of hyperbole and stereotyping throughout. Gender roles and the blurring of those roles was introduced as well as empathy.
Period 2--AP 30
The AP 30s continued their viewing of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead and we still have a bit more to go for tomorrow. Fortunately, tomorrow's class is a double, so we should be able to finish it up and discuss.
Period 3--ELA B 30
The students continued their reading of the graphic novel Beowulf. We will go over their comprehension questions tomorrow.
Period 4--AP 10
The student continued with their I-Search papers. We will have tomorrow's class to continue as well as two more when we are back from the break. This will be due May 5th.
Period 5 & 6--AP 20
Since we've finished a bit of poetry, the students did a timed write on sonnets for the first class as refined it in the second half of the double. When they finished, they began some research to help frame their next work which is The Crucible.
