Period 1--ELA 20
In preparation for our play that is next on our agenda, we spent this class discussing gender roles.  With the title of "Switching Places," it's no surprise that roles will be reversed in this play.  We should have fun when we start it tomorrow.

Period 2--AP 30/ELA A 30
The students had another timed write in AP today to finish off our Victorian Literature unit.  We will be into modern literature tomorrow with some adbsurdist theatre in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.
ELA A 30:  They read an essay by Chief Dan George titled "I am a Native of North America"

Period 3--ELA B 30
We introduced the idea of heroes today with a power point that looks at the characteristics and we created some definitions.  This is leading up to our study of Beowulf.

Period 4 & 5--AP 10
Finally, we know who killed Mr. Chippendale in the poem by the same name.  For the first period, the students played detective until we all reasoned it out.  In the second period of the double, they were introduced to the I-Search Paper that will focus on one of the issues found in the poem.  They have a lot of freedom to take this in any direction they like.

Period 6--AP 20
We finished out study of "Thou Blind Man's Mark" and in order to get ready for our study of The Crucible, they had some time to look up 10 interesting facts about the Salem Witch Trials.
