Period 1--AP 30/ELA A 30
As promised, this was time for the students to finish working on their essay.  The students doing the "regular" course were working on their Sgt. John reading log assignment given to them by Mr. McJannet.  This will be the same for the rest of this week.

Period 2--Pre-AP 20
We continued and finished looking at the two companion poems by Blake with "Holy Thursday."  After we analyzed the poems, I gave them their assignment for Life of Pi.   We'll be doing a deeper reading of the novel by creating am ABC book with a partner.

Period 3--ELA A 30
We were called down to the gym for an assembly today where Mr. McJannet shared some fo the good, bad, and ugly the school is dealing with right now.  We are in the home stretch for grade 12, so the students need to buckle down and make sure that they get their work done.

After the assembly, we came back and were almost able to finish reading "The Lamp at Noon" by Sinclair Ross.  We'll finish it up tomorrow.

Period 4--Pre-AP 10
We finished the power point on the novel today after some excellent discussion about censorship.  We spent some time on the internet looking at some of the recently banned books.  Quite a few of the books on the list were surprises to students and it really brought the message home to them from Fahrenheit 451.  They particularly enjoyed the irony of several schools banning a book on censorship!
