Period 1--AP 30
Three quarters of the class was attending a university function today, so we used the class to clean up some assignments they've been working on.

Period 2--ELA A 30
We finally finished April Raintree today!  I introduced their Inquiry Assignment that will keep them busy for the next week during class.  We went to the computer lab to begin their research and I required them to come up with their 5 guiding questions for their project.  This project will examine First Nations and Metis issues brought up from reading our novel.

Period 3--History 10
Two students presented their current events presentation.  We then continued our study of the Scientific Revolution and started in on the Enlightenment.  We didn't quite get this finished, but will be able to do so on Monday, thus bringing this part of our unit to a close.  This means we will be having an exam.  With the students, we chose next Thursday, Oct. 10 as their exam date.

Period 4--AP 10
We did some active reading with Of Mice and Men in the last chapter.  We are focussing on the idea of juxtaposition.  The students read the last chapter of the novella looking at the diction; they highlighted positive phrases and words with one colour and then negative ones with another.  We then examined how these words affect us, as readers, and impact our emotions about what we are reading.
