I was away at an Advanced Placement Meeting all day, but this is what the day should have looked like:
Period 1 & 2--AP 30
They worked on their annotations for the first class of the double period and then they read Beowulf (an excerpt) in the second. They were looking for kennings, alliteration, and caesura as they read. As a treat, I allowed them to read the graphic novel too, which they really enjoyed!
Period 3--ELA A 30
The students finished reading the poem "Canada: A Case History" with Mrs. Adelman. They answered the questions and went over them together in class.
Period 4--History 10
Mr. Wills was in charge and went over information on the textile industry during the Industrial Revolution.
Period 5--AP 10
Mrs. Adelman was thrilled to teach Macbeth! She recited the first scene for the kids, did some review and then continued reading. They also did a cloze activity of the soldier's speech to familiarize themselves with the language.
Period 6--AP 20
They students had this last class to work on their To Kill A Mockingbird essay in class.
