Period 1--History 10
Mr. Wills gave the kids more time to work on their research assignment on an inventor from the Industrial Revolution. They will get tomorrow as well.
Period 2--ELA A 30
We finished reading the essay "Canadian Personality" today as well as a few side articles to support some of the statements made in the article. We will go through their assignment for this class tomorrow.
Period 3--AP 30
The students had a bit of time to start their Beowulf Boast today and then we moved onto the introduction of the Canterbury Tales. To get us in the right frame of mind, we pretended to be on a road trip with 29 strangers and no technology for two weeks. I asked them what kind of people might they find on their trip and we brainstormed a list together. At this point, we started in on some of the technical features of the story and background to it.
Period 4 & 5--AP 10
We reviewed for the kids who were missing yesterday for driver training. We continued reading the rest of the act. The students were suitable "creeped out" by Lady Macbeth and her determination to see her husband become king! Along the way, we did a character study of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, Banquo, the Witches, and Duncan. The students' job for next class will be to create a character sketch.
Period 6--AP 20
After taking a break from it, we were back into William Blake's poetry. We completed our study of "The Tyger" and will get into "The Lamb" on Friday.
