Period 1--History 10
Mr. Wills was back to teach the class today with the focus being on Standard of living.  He was able to complete his presentation and had the students do an activity that asked them to choose the 10 most important things they would want on an island if they crashed, in order to maintain their standard of living.  We didn't quite finish, so we will do so tomorrow.

Period 2--ELA A 30
The class had an enthusiastic discussion about political correctness and the national anthem.  This then transitioned into the idea of Canadian humour.  We will revisit the topic tomorrow.

Period 3--AP 30
The students requested one more class to complete their comparative timed write on two different speeches from Oedipus Rex.  They were given this time to complete the essay.

Period 4--AP 10
We are still working on some of the background information for Macbeth.  This meant that we needed to understand the concept of plot development.  As such, there were some board notes for the students to take down.  We spent the last few minutes looking at "prophecies" by examining the students' horoscopes for the day.  This lead to a discussion about self-fulfilling prophecies and the argument between fate and free will.

Period 5--Mentor period
The students were given this class to collect exemplars of their work from each of their class and begin working on their comment sheets.

Period 6--AP 20
This is their second last class to work on their To Kill a Mockingbird essay.  They should be using this time to have me check thesis statements and begin organizing their ideas.
