June 20, 2012

You know your life is sad when you have to take a day off to work--in my case, mark!  I was hiding at home marking all day, so Mrs. Adleman was in for me.  This is what her day was like:

Period 1—ELA A 30 and AP 30
The APs are working on a small assignment from Over Canada.  If they finish it, they can work on whatever other things they need to do to get ready for final exams.

The regular kids need to continue to take up their practice exam.  I’ve given them a sample departmental because that is what their exam will look like (because of the two different teachers).  We’ve corrected the first 10 multiple choice, so today, they corrected the rest and discussed.  I’ve photocopied the “answer key” that was handed out to the kids for comparison in their writing.  I’d like them to try some of the writing during this class to familiarize them with the questions.

Period 2—Pre-AP 20s
They are going to do some practice AP multiple choice questions.  They worked on these and then went through the answers.  Their AP mulitple choice section of their final exam is tomorrow.

Period 3—ELA A 30
Continue to take up their practice exam.  Again, we'd corrected some yesterday, so corrected the rest today.   I’d like them to try some of the writing questions from the exam during this class to familiarize them with the questions.  This should be compared to the exemplars in the answer key I provided for them.

Period 4—Pre-AP 10
They are going to do some practice AP multiple choice questions.   They worked on these and then went through the answers.  Their AP mulitple choice section of their final exam is tomorrow.
