Since there were very few, they used this class to work on various assignments to get cleaned up before final exams. For those that were done everything, they worked on the essay, “I am a Native of North America” by Chief Dan George.
Period 2—Pre-AP 20
We finished reading A Doll’s House. Once they were finished, we split up into 4 groups—Nora, Helmer, Rank, and Christine. Each group camr up with at least 5 adjectives to describe their character and two quotations from the play that supports some of those adjectives. We will discuss their findings on Monday.
Period 3—ELA A 30
Not many kids were here with the concession at OES, but those that did show up had computer time to finish up their Sgt John assignments.
Period 4—Pre-AP 10
After patiently waiting, they finally got to start Hunger Games today. They were asked to come up with three possible themes of the novel. They needed to follow the formula: topic + insight = theme. They created themes together in small groups. Once they identified possible themes from the novel, in a well-written paragraph, they were to individually write which theme they believe to be the most important from the novel. Be sure to explain using examples from the story—to be handed in. Most were able to complete this during class.
