Period 1--ELA A 30/AP 30
The AP kids continued watching Over Canada and were able to finish it. They will have a chance to work on a short assignment tomorrow. The regular ELA class continued with exam preparation. We marked the multiple choice from the sample exam for the proof reading section and will continue with the rest tomorrow.
Period 2--Pre-AP 20
I gave the students their Life of Pi timed writes back. They were able to look at it and then used some of the feedback to write their final timed write on A Doll's House.
Period 3--ELA A 30
We continued with exam preparation. We marked the multiple choice from the sample exam for the proof reading section and will continue with the rest tomorrow.
Period 4--Pre-AP 10
For interest's sake, we looked at their AP folders where they could see their writing from the beginning of the year and see how far they've come in such a short time. Then, we finished with our Hunger Games character analysis. Finally, the students had the chance to examine reasons why people may have banned this novel from the classroom. As a final assignment, they had to write a letter to the Director of Sun West school division that either supports banning Hunger Games or opposes it (not that it is banned--it was just an exercise in "what if?").
