Period 1--ELA A 30/AP 30
We started the class off with some discussion of being pulled in two directions for various reasons as a pre-reading activity. From there we examined the poem "Walking Both Sides of an Invisible Border." The students determined various images that held meaning for them and then we started looking at various literary devices that provided particular meaning to the poem and affected the tone. We didn't quite finish with the poem, so we will do so tomorrow.
Period 2--Pre-AP 20
We started out the class with a discussion of gender roles and what are some acceptable ones and not so acceptable ones in our society. We then started reading the play "A Doll's House" by Henrik Isben. We will continue with this reading for the next several days.
Period 3--ELA A 30
The students are working on their novel assignments for all of this week.
Period 4--Pre-AP 10
A final class was given to these students for them to work on their ABCs or their Reel Injun assignment. We will be doing a timed write on Fahrenheit 451 tomorrow and then onto Hunger Games on Wednesday.
