WELCOME BACK!
Unfortunately, we are brought back to school with excessive cold and no school buses running which means very few students in our classes. Nevertheless, the show must go on (somewhat!).
Period 1--AP 30
Since we finished Hamlet right before the break, I though it was prudent to do a bit of review. As such, we took some time to view Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet. We only really got near the end of Act I, but it did put the students into the appropriate frame of mind.
Period 2 & 3--ELA A 30
Although we are not yet finished reading the non-fiction book The Secret Lives of Sgt. John Wilson, we were able to make a start on their assignment. This assignment has them do an ABC booklet of the novel with a visual, quotation, the word, and a description/explanation of the word to the corresponding letter of the alphabet.
Period 4--AP 10
The students were given 10 words (literary devices) to learn for a quiz on Friday. After this, they were given the class period to read Dracula to get ready for next semester.
Period 5--History 10
Since I have virtually the same class for ELA as I do for History, we just continued with reading their ELA novel during History.
