Period 1--ELA B 30
We finished our dicussion of Night in this class by looking at the changes in Elie (physically and mentally) throughout his internment at Auschwitz and the other concentration camps. Once we were finished with our discussions and readings (facillitated by filling out the timeline of events and personality changes), the kids were assigned a paragraph to write comparing Elie at the beginning of the book to Elie and the point of liberation. Their final exam is on Tuesday afternoon.
Period 2--ELA B 30/AP 30 split
ELA B 30-- as above (period 1 content was the same as in period 2)
AP 30--The students were given this period to finish their question paragraph on The Great Gatsby. Once they were finished that, they were given some practice multiple choice questions to work on to get ready for their final exam on Tuesday afternoon. The AP class had a vote as to when they want to write their multiple choice section of their exam. Since it was a tie, I broke the tie and told them that they will write their exam Tuesday morning at 9:00 am in my room. We'll go over answers for the multiple choice practice questions they did today on Monday.
Period 3--Pre-AP 10
We continued with their speeches on an importnat issue. I continue to be impressed with the quality of these speeches. We should be able to finish them up on Monday. The kids will write the multiple choice section of their exam on Tuesday in period 3. Their final exam is Wednesday.
Period 4--History 10
We continued reviewing for their final which is on Friday. We went over the Industrial Revolution and economic decision making today.
Period 5--History 30
We looked at the last 50+ years of Canadian History today. We did this by just looking at some importatn points. It certainly was not a comprehensive look at recent Canadian history, rather just some "snap shots" but it will suffice for their exam next Wednesday.
