Period 1--ELA B 30
We viewed some pictures from the Holocaust today to give the students a visual of some of the events Elie Weisel was depicting in his book.  It was a solemn first part of the class, but a good "look" into the situation he lived through.  From there, we spent some time going over the timeline.  The students chose an event that impacted Elie's personality and then I found the event in the book, read it, and we spoke about the changes it made in the young boy.

Period 2--ELA B 30
As above, we viewed pictures from the Holocaust.  The students worked in partners or small groups to complete the timeline of Elie's life and stay in the concentration camp.

AP 30
They sat through the pictures of the Holocuast even though they were reading Gatsby.  Unfortunately, I can't split myself in two and I needed to introduce the other topic.  Once the other part of the class were working on their timeline, the APs went through a power point on Gatsby with me.  So far, we examined the concept of the American Dream and how this book portrays that dream.  We were just looking at a few of the themes and motifs when the bell rang and will continue this tomorrow.

Period 3--Pre-AP 10
They continued with their presentations on Animal Farm and the Russian Revolution.  We'll finish these up tomorrow and then get into the speeches that are due tomorrow.

Period 4--History 10
This was their last class to work on their Glorious Revolution or English Civil War project.  It is due on Friday.

Period 5--History 30
We continued to discuss the last 100 years or so in History.  We are moving quickly through the Great Depression and will deal with World War II tomorrow and Thursday.
