Period 1--AP 30
We continued with our reading by starting out with Act III and then immediately halted with the "To be or not to be" speech. At this point, I showed clips of the soliliquy from the Branaugh version as well as the Gibson version (for fun, we also watched Richard Burton perform the speech). The setting, context, and lighting are so different in the productions that it dramatically alters the tone. Tomorrow we will spend some time actively "annotating" these clips.
Period 2--ELA A 30
The students were given the first part of the class to work on their reading log from The Secret Lives of Sgt. John Wilson. For the second half of the class, we read on to see what John was going to do now that Polly made it to Canada.
Period 3--History 10
This was their last class to work on their summative assessment (letters to the editor). We will carry on with our unit tomorrow.
Period 4--AP 10
We were in the computer lab to continue on with the character sketches in multi-media format.
