Period 1--ELA B 30
I gave them a bit more time to work on their precis from yesterday.  They worked very diligently.  Once the majority were finished, we moved on.  The precis will be homework for those who aren't completed and will be expected to have it finished by the time I am back on Tuesday.  We looked at various faces and tried to put names to them.  Through this, we developed a discussion of connotations of name, living up to names, etc.  This leads into reading the essay "What's Your Right Name?"

Period 2--AP 30
We finished our discussion of "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" and then moved into a cursory study of Wordsworth's "Tinturn Abbey" and Byron's "Thirty-Sixth Year."  We reviewed their upcoming assignment and then looked at an exemplar of this type of assignment.  I pointed out effective ways of creating comparison in literature essays as well as did a quick introduction to citation of more than one source and how to "stem" into a citation.

Period 3--AP 10
This class was devoted to kids working on their final draft of their ghost/mystery story.  Many were able to hand it in before the end of class.

Period 4--History 10
We continued with our look at the Middle Ages and the kids ended the class with working on an assignment that had them choose one word to describe the Middle Ages and then provide proof to back it up.  Many finished before the end of class and were able to hand it in.
